Wendy’s litigation practice includes public law and civil and commercial disputes. She has appeared as lead counsel in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court as well as in significant public inquiries and before the Waitangi Tribunal.
Wendy has particular expertise in intellectual property law and presently holds office as an Assistant Commissioner of Trade Marks, Patents and Designs (Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand), hearing and deciding proceedings about registrable IP rights.
Wendy worked in law firms in New Zealand and London and at Crown Law before joining the independent Bar in 2007. She was appointed King’s Counsel in 2024.
Wendy graduated from the University of Canterbury in 1994 with a conjoint Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (French) and holds a Master's degree in Law with Honours from Victoria University of Wellington.
